1971 - 2026
In 1971 Waltraud and Michael Hundsbichler opened the bed and breakfast "Ferienhof - Hundsbichler" with 14 well equipped rooms, not far from Michael's birthplace. They have been running their business with dedication and passion for many decades. 3 sons complete their family
- 1998 - Son Thomas Hundsbichler takes over the business
- 2000 - Reconstruction and extension to today's "Hotel Garni FERIENHOF" in 4* level.
The 3rd floor, which had been empty until then, is extended. In addition to the extension to the south, 9 further rooms and suites were created. A wellness area, lift, spacious garden and parking area directly at the hotel, as well as our popular house bar completed this major renovation.
- 2005 - Renovation of all remaining rooms and complete renewal of the kitchen.

- Installation of a solar system
- Connection to a district heating network with BIO certificate and abandonment of oil heating
- Change of electricity supplier - for many years we have only used electricity from renewable resources, e.g. hydropower
- Connection to the fibre high speed network for high performance internet access
- Our food comes almost exclusively from producers in the region or from the family's own farm. Many of them in BIO quality
- 2023 and 2024 - All rooms and suites were lovingly refurbished with great attention to detail ahead of the winter season. A new traditional parlour was created, and an additional bicycle garage was added for our summer guests. Furthermore, four parking spaces with charging stations for electric vehicles were installed.
- 2025 - Nina has been a valued member of our establishment for many years and will, together with her husband Goran, assume greater responsibility in the time ahead.
In addition, our family has always been actively involved in local community and club life and supports social and charitable organisations in the region and beyond (www.sterntaler.cc)
